Despite the implementation of various social programs, there are still poor people, who need a help to survive. The children, displaced persons and returnees and the unemployed, those who have a low education or employees who live in families with more children are often exposed to poverty.
As the state is not able to provide an appropriate assistance needed for the survival of returnees, Caritas provides assistance to many individuals and families through the winter, giving them the most. Many elderly and ill persons, as well as social cases received ovens for heating and cooking equipment, mattresses, blankets and firewood.
The Winter program has been implemented for several years with the financial support from the German Caritas.
Since the economic and political situation in the country is poor, there is a need of assistance to many individuals and families to have the most to live. For many people, Caritas is the only institution that helps to those who suffer and, therefore, there is an understanding of the donors that this vision of assistance should continue.
